[Friday Flash Review] Keebler Lemon Cream Pie Fudge Stripes

Friday Flash Reviews are abridged reviews of new or exciting products for your end-of-week reading.

Lemon always seems to get a bad rap. It’s another way to refer to something that’s broken down, and it’s the go-to “fresh” scent for stinky cleaning solutions. Worst of all, lemons make babies do this:

Get this baby a damn bib.

But as Keebler has figured out, literally everything is better when it’s in the form of a cookie, and these new Limited Batch Lemon Cream Pie Fudge Stripes are no exception. Like their Cinnamon Roll counterparts, Lemon Cream Pie Fudge Stripes carry a strong scent. Luckily though, that scent resembles a freshly baked lemon bar, as opposed to Pine Sol.

Limited Batch Lemon Cream Pie Fudge Stripes use the standard buttery shortbread Fudge Stripe cookie but with a slight twist. The lemon element seems to be embedded in the cookie itself–it starts out sweet and refreshing, then ends with just a hint of tartness. I scraped away at the frosting separately, and sure enough, its flavor is a rather straightforward creamy sweetness. Overall, Lemon Cream Pie Fudge Stripes do a pretty good job of capturing the flavors of their namesake pie.

And at the very least, they help repair lemon’s sour image.
