[Friday Flash Review] Burger King Cinnamon Toast Crunch Shake

Friday Flash Reviews are abridged reviews of new or exciting products for your end-of-week reading.

According to a survey I just conducted by yelling at people on the street, 9 in 10 people agree that Cinnamon Toast Crunch is the best cereal of all time (the 10th was an angry dude who just flipped me off). So needless to say, I was disappointed when Cinnamon Toast Crunch Bites didn’t live up to the CTC name. Will Burger King’s new Cinnamon Toast Crunch Shake fare better?

The Cinnamon Toast Shake features cinnamon cereal flavored syrup and Cinnamon Toast Crunch pieces blended in vanilla soft serve, with a whipped topping. The cinnamon cereal syrup comes out strongly–it’s dangerously close to being too sugary. Fortunately, the cinnamon helps cut through some of that sweetness. I didn’t get much of a “cereal” flavor from the syrup, but the cereal pieces make up for that. They retain their crunch surprisingly well, too.

Overall, the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Shake is a pretty good addition to Burger King’s cereal shake line-up. Some sips reach lip-puckering levels of sweetness, and the quality of BK’s soft serve leaves something to be desired, but it’s a decent milkshake representation of Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

And at the very least, it doesn’t make a mockery of the Cinnamon Toast Crunch name.

How Much It Cost and Where I Bought It: $3.59 at Burger King

In a Nutshell: Really sugary, but cinnamon flavor and cereal pieces save the day. Pretty good for a fast food milkshake. More grams of sugar than dollars in my bank account.
