Snack Cellar’s Keys to the Game, Brought to You By Eddie Bauer:
- Chocolate Donut looks to make it 2-🍩 for Donut Shop in the Cereal Bowl after Pink Donut’s victory to open the Wildcard round
- Banana Nut Cheerios boast real banana puree, and will also be the first serving of fruit I’ve eaten all week
- These two cereals could combine to make Chocolate Covered Banana Donut Shop Cereal, which I just added to my Fat Kid Wish List™
Chocolate Donut Donut Shop Cereal
Chocolate Donut Donut Shop Cereal gets points for two things right off the bat: 1) not being called “Brown Donut,” and 2) its true-to-chocolate-donut aroma. Seriously, this cereal smells exactly like the thick chocolate frosting on a bakery donut. But while this cereal’s heavenly scent and crunchy texture is great, Chocolate Donut’s flavor isn’t quite as vibrant as its smell would suggest. The chocolate taste is good, but not as rich as Chocolate Frosted Flakes or Oreo O’s. Adding milk doesn’t add or subtract from the equation, though the chocolatey milk at the bottom of the bowl is tasty.

Banana Nut Cheerios
After a brief retirement, Banana Nut Cheerios are back for a limited time…so I guess you could say they’re the Brett Favre of the Cereal Bowl. The ingredients list banana puree, cinnamon, and natural pecan flavor, and all three are prominent here. The banana flavor is authentic and refreshing, and leads to a wonderfully nutty component from the pecan flavoring. Lingering through it all are the classic Cheerio oat flavor and a warm cinnamon spice, both of which complement the fruit and nut flavors really well. Banana Nut Cheerios are even a little more enjoyable in milk, as the sweetness of the banana perks up a bit.
