Cinnamon Toast Crunch Blasted Shreds

To win this matchup, Cinnamon Toast Crunch Blasted Shreds don’t necessarily need to taste as good as Cinnamon Toast Crunch, but they definitely need to taste better than Cinnamon Toast Crunch Bites. The good news is that Cinnamon Toast Crunch Blasted Shreds are indeed better than their frozen brethren. But at the end of the day, they’re just big fat shredded wheat biscuits rolled in cinnamon and sugar. The initial taste is reminiscent of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, but after a couple of chews, the overwhelming taste of shredded wheat takes over. These things get worse in milk–the cinnamon sugar coating washes off, and you’re left with soggy wheat (might want to see a doctor for that). As the old saying goes, you can put lipstick on a pig, but that pig is still shredded wheat.

Score: 7 out of 10

Pink Donut Donut Shop Cereal

There are three great mysteries of our time: whether Bigfoot is real, what happened to Amelia Earhart, and why in the world Kellogg’s chose to name this flavor “Pink Donut.” Upon tasting it though, I honestly don’t care because this cereal is pretty good. The rings’ texture is similar to Froot Loops, but with a heavier crunch. Pink Donut’s flavor lands somewhere between vanilla and nondescript sugary frosting, which doesn’t quite conjure memories of a freshly baked donut, but it makes for a sweet cereal that’s hard to put down. Milk neither improves nor worsens the Pink Donut experience (new band name?), as the cereal stays sweet and relatively crunchy.

Score: 8 out of 10
